Rear-End Accident: Conservative Care Only
August 30, 2010 – This case was unusual in the sense that it involved a rear-end motorcycle accident that led to injuries for which conservative/chiropractic care was sufficient. We are, unfortunately, too accustomed to seeing much worse injuries in such accidents.
In this case, our client was astride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and stopped while waiting for a light to change when he was rear-ended by an inattentive motorist. Our client was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered road rash to his left shin, as well as injuries to his neck and back that required extensive physical therapy and chiropractic care.
The case was happily one that didn’t present our client with permanent, life-altering injuries. After a thorough work-up and several rounds of negotiations, we were able to obtain the policy limits from the insurance provider for the at-fault driver, as well as an additional payment from our client’s underinsured motorist carrier.
Awarded: $33,500.00
