According to the National Weather Service, accumulations of between 1 and 2 feet of snow are possible in some areas, including Erie and Meadville. Snow showers are expected to become heavier today and continue through Tuesday with winds increasing from 15 to 25 mph and gusting to 35 mph.
Veteran drivers in Northwestern Pennsylvania know two things about such forecasts. First, odds are no better than 50-50 that they will prove to be accurate. Second, if these predictions are accurate, driving will be extremely hazardous as the gusting winds and heavy snowfall reduce visibility to near zero and create patches of heavy, drifting snow.
The injury lawyers at Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C. encourage all drivers in Crawford County and Erie County to take measures to protect themselves this winter season. One of the most important things you can do is to put snow tires on your car. For more on why snow tires can be so important, see our article and blog entries on the subject.
