A major Erie car accident on Thursday sent six people to the hospital for injuries of uncertain severity. The auto collision occurred at the intersection of Cherry Street Extension and Young Road in Millcreek Township, Pennsylvania.
A Dodge Nitro SUV and a white pickup collided in the intersection, causing the Dodge to rollover. The crash happened near 3:30 p.m.
The injured were taken to UPMC Hamot, Saint Vincent and Millcreek Community hospitals, according to authorities who responded at the Pennsylvania car accident site. The severity of the injuries is not known.
Video of the accident scene depicts the Dodge Nitro on its roof with indications that the car accident caused the airbags to deploy. A full sized white pickup truck, apparently a Ford with an extended cab, is also seen in the video. Both vehicles have extensive physical damage from the Erie collision. The damage to the pick up is entirely to the front end. The damage to the Dodge is to the passenger side of the vehicle.
Our hopes are with the injured for a quick and complete recovery.
