Mr. Struble was eastbound on East 12th Street, reportedly at a high rate of speed, when his Corvette began sliding sideways and struck the curb near the entrance to Accuride Corp. The Corvette then struck a fence and two large concrete blocks in Accuride’s parking lot, located just feet from the edge of the road.
Police are continuing their investigation of the fatal Erie car accident. It may be important to consider the use of the concrete blocks so close to the roadway; why they were placed as they were; and whether they have played a role in other accidents in the area. As Erie lawyers with experience in the investigation of such accidents, we know that such objects are sometimes intentionally used by property owners to create a barrier against cars that otherwise might enter onto the property.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Struble’s grieving family.
