The Jeep’s driver had intended to make a left turn onto New Road and was stopped waiting for southbound traffic to clear. The Eagle Talon failed to stop and smashed into the rear of the Jeep in the fatal Erie car wreck. From initial reports, the force of the impact was significant. All occupants of both vehicles were injured, some were taken to UPMC Hamot and at least one remains in serious condition.
The young woman, a 17 year-old Strong Vincent High School student, soccer player and volunteer at Family Day Care West, suffered fatal chest injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether she was seat-belted at the time of the Erie car crash.
Our sincerest condolences go the family of the young woman and our hopes are with those who were seriously injured in the Erie car crash.
