The Erie Times News reports that William D. McCray was killed Sunday, August 1, 2010 in an Erie County motorcycle head on collision on Route 77 in Richmond Township, Pennsylvania.
Reportedly, Mr. McCray was westbound on Route 77 when he passed on a hill. An eastbound Saturn coupe apparently crested the hill and struck Mr. McCray head-on. None else was injured in the collision, according to the story.
The summer has been marked by a record number of Erie County motorcycle injuries, as we blogged about in July. This article does not suggest that the Saturn driver could have done anything to avoid the accident but it nevertheless bears repeating that car drivers should be aware of and alert to the motorcyclists who share our roads.
