Erin Carlisle was a young woman who obviously inspired a great deal of love from those who knew her. She was killed this past summer in a well-publicized Erie boating accident when a boat fueling at the Erie Yacht Club exploded. The event was initiated in her memory and benefits a scholarship fund in her name for students at Gannon University.
Personally, it was bittersweet to meet her family on the course this weekend. Her husband, parents and extended family were all there, greeting golfers and participants throughout the day. It was moving to hear their stories of Erin and heartbreaking to think of their loss.
But the family is strong and is channeling their grief in positive directions, keeping Erin’s memory alive and using their loss to benefit others. The Pennsylvania accident lawyers at Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C. were pleased to help support this cause. As a major corporate sponsor of the Erin Carlisle Memorial Golf Tournament we were able to do just that and enjoy an afternoon of golf with others who are similarly committed to supporting and contributing to our Erie community.
Contributions can still be made to the fund, even though the tournament has ended. Contact Doug Robinson at 814-873-1513, Ryan Munson at 814-504-2064 or Shari Robinson at 814-873-5195.
