August 24, 2011, ERIE, PA — We tell people all the time that they should ask Erie injury lawyers about whether they stay up to date on Pennsylvania injury and insurance law. Even better, we suggest that people ask whether an Erie lawyer has actually taught other lawyers and insurance professionals and, if the lawyer has, will the lawyer provide them with the details? Well, we’ve done that HERE about our past seminars, but here’s a chance for you to see one live. Eric Purchase will be leading a panel discussion of Pennsylvania’s newest tort reform statute, S. B. 1131, Act 30, the legislation passed this summer which largely abolished Joint and Several Liability in Pennsylvania.
The event is designed as continuing legal education for lawyers, is sponsored by the Erie County Bar Association and is approved for 1.5 credits by Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court. The panel includes experienced Erie civil trial lawyers representing both injured people and insurance companies in Pennsylvania. In addition to Mr. Purchase, lawyers S. E. “Tim” Riley and Craig Murphey will participate on the panel and will offer insight into the implications of the new law in Pennsylvania car accident, medical malpractice and other injury cases.
The seminar is scheduled for August 30, 2011 beginning at 11:45 a.m. at the Bayfront Convention Center. Cost of admission is $48 for Erie County Bar Association members; $72 for non-members; and $34 for judges.
