January 16, 2010, ERIE, PA — A woman was hurt yesterday while walking on West Lake Road when struck by a hit-and-run driver. The woman, who has not been identified, was walking westbound along the north berm of the road when a westbound driver in a dark-colored SUV struck her. She was taken to Hamot Medical Center for head injuries that are not reported as life-threatening.

The SUV is believed to have damage on its passenger side, possibly including a broken front passenger-side headlight lens, a damaged or missing mirror and other passenger side damage.

The accident occurred near 8:10 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Lake Road in Millcreek Township.
