Edinboro police said the woman was northbound on Route 99 in the Edinboro, PA area when she missed a bend in the road near Tarbell Lane. She was apparently driving a gray Honda Civic. The collision was significant enough that the utility pole was sheared off and the streetlight broken.
A video that accompanies the story graphically demonstrates the damage from the Edinboro collision. The utility pole was a wooden pole and the force of the car’s impact literally sheared the pole off at a point about 18 inches above ground. The damage to the car from the Erie County car accident was significant but perhaps not as much as you might think. It’s a demonstration of how force in car accidents does not always translate into massive damage to the vehicles involved.
We hope this woman’s Erie car accident injuries are not serious and that she is out of the hospital and better soon.
