September 11, 2010, Erie — A woman was injured in an Erie car crash this morning on East 28th Street when her vehicle struck a utility pole and then bounced onto a lawn at 1255 East 28th Street. She was taken to Hamot Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.
The impact of the Erie car accident was apparently substantial. The utility pole was sheared off at the bottom and the top half hung suspended from utility lines. The car’s windshield was shattered and a tire came off. The impact woke neighbors who came out in their robes to inspect.
Erie police closed 28th Street between Florence and Burton Avenues for repair of the utility lines.
