Involved in the Erie car crash were a white Ford Windstar and a Dodge Caravan. The Windstar had a shattered rear window and damage to the passenger door. The Windstar was found near the loading dock at EBC Industries, 1325 Liberty Street, Erie, PA.
The Dodge Caravan’s front end was damaged and its air bag was deployed. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was taken to Hamot and police described the driver’s injuries as moderate. The Times also reports that the driver of the Ford was not hurt.
The northbound lanes on Liberty Street were closed temporarily until police could move the damaged vehicles.
Moderate injuries can range dramatically dependent upon the information available at the scene and the perspective of the police officer reporting the harm. Our hope is that the moderate injuries described in this accident are not serious and that the injured driver recovers quickly.
It’s also worth noting that we’ve seen many accidents in which drivers and passengers are reported as having “no injury” but in fact go to the hospital or their doctor shortly after and are found to have serious car accident injuries, including injuries to the spine, knees, or shoulders. We hope this incident is one in which the Ford Windstar driver was truly not injured.
