May 7, 2012, ERIE, PA — The Erie injury lawyers at Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C. are happy to help promote the Erie County Bar Association’s Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship.
Every year, the lawyers of Erie County raise money to provide assistance for Erie County residents who want to attend law school and who demonstrate financial need. The only eligibility requirements that a candidate must meet are that the candidate must be an Erie County resident and beginning his or her first year of study at an American Bar Association accredited law school.
Applications are judged based on financial need, academic achievement and the applicant’s statement of career objectives. The panel making the scholarship decision includes Erie lawyers and other community leaders.
The scholarship is named after Justice Samuel J. Roberts, who served as president judge of the Orphan’s Court, justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
